These courses are offered by the Department of Manufacturing, Industrial & Textile Engineering. The courses are offered at undergraduate (100-500 series), Masters (800 series) and PhD (900 series) level.

This is a level five course that train students on constituents, manufacture, properties and applications of polymer composites, metal matrix composites and fibre-reinforced concrete. Knowledge is also imparted on micro and macro mechanics of composites.

 

This is a level 9 course for students undertaking doctoral studies in Industrial Engineering. The course trains on fundamental concepts of material interactions with particles and waves, data handling, crystallography and defects.  Students are thus trained on diffraction techniques, electron emission spectroscopies, X-Ray emission techniques, vibration spectroscopies, Ion scattering techniques, mass/optical spectroscopies and on neutron diffraction techniques.

This is a level 9 course for students undertaking doctoral studies in Materials & Textiles Engineering. The course trains on characterization techniques for structural, elemental, morphological and physical analysis of polymers. Students are thus trained on spectroscopic techniques, electron Imaging, diffraction techniques and on thermal analysis techniques.    

This is a level 9 course for students undertaking doctoral studies in Materials & Textile Engineering. The course train on  functional analysis, designing, manufacture, properties, durability and application of geotextiles.  

This is a level-8 course for students undertaking Masters of Science degree in Textile Engineering and/or Masters of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. The course trains on advanced composite's reinforcement forms, resin systems, manufacturing techniques and on behavior of composites under different conditions. The course also expound on composite mechanic, composite deterioration and on composite repair and maintenance.  

This is a level 8 course for students undertaking Masters of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. The course offers advanced training on structures, properties and applications of ceramics, organic polymers, composites and nano-materials.

This is a level four course that trains on preparatory processes for textile  materials before dyeing and/or printing. The learners are also introduced to finishing processes applied to textile materials after dyeing and/or printing. The course has a laboratory component for hand-on training of students on the aforementioned processes. 

This is a level four course that focuses on engineering design of various machine elements such as shafts,belt drive,chain drive, gear drive,cam, and bearing. In addition, learners are taught the uses of standards, codes, material charts and tables in engineering design. The course also introduces learners to the concept of Intellectual Property Management. Learners undertaking the course are given design exercises on various machine components.
